What it is

Hotel Indigo Bintan Lagoi Beach Resort is a boutique, lifestyle‐driven property within IHG’s luxury portfolio, featuring 120 thoughtfully curated rooms and suites. Opened on 24 October 2024, it occupies the prime beachfront stretch of Lagoi Bay and draws inspiration from Bintan’s sea-faring heritage—guestroom headboards evoke pirate lore, rattan furnishings nod to local craftsmanship, and communal “kelong”-style canopies reference traditional fishing platforms.

Where It Is

Located just a 60-minute ferry ride from Singapore’s Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, followed by a 10-minute transfer to Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal, the resort sits on the powder-white sands of Lagoi Beach in the Bintan Resorts enclave. Its elevated, timber-clad pavilions overlook the South China Sea on one side and lush jungle on the other, creating an immersive transition from water to land.

Who Should Stay

  • Couples & Honeymooners: The resort’s intimate SugarBeats Beach Club and ocean-front suites (with options like outdoor bathtubs) set a romantic tone.
  • Design & Culture Enthusiasts: Architecture by Tierra Design and interiors by PIA celebrate local motifs—seekers of authentic, place-based experiences will delight in spotting Chinaware accents, tackle-rigging screens, and Sultanate-inspired stools.
  • Foodie Travelers: With three distinct F&B outlets—Ocean Kitchen’s modern Indonesian fare, Tiki Bar’s craft cocktails, and Stix Stix Satay Bar’s smoky skewers—guests can taste a curated slice of Bintan’s vibrant food scene without leaving the resort.
  • Wellness & Active Guests: From dawn yoga and a 24-hour gym to non-motorized water sports at Wavy Waft and holistic treatments (including Dreampod flotation pods) at Sunjivva Spa, there’s something for every pace

Why Stay Here

  • Authentic Sense of Place: Each Hotel Indigo property tells a “neighbourhood story.” Here, that means playful swings under raised pavilions, carpet tiles that shimmer like fish scales, and thematic nods to Bintan’s pirate past—all woven into the guest journey.
  • Exclusive Pools: Hotel Indigo guests enjoy the beachfront SugarBeats Pool and the secluded Voyage Pool & Bar, both framed by coconut palms and sweeping sea views.
  • Intimate Scale & Service: With just 120 rooms, the resort maintains a boutique feel, ensuring personalized attention—from shell-collecting beach walks with the kids’ activities manager to bespoke mixology stories at Tiki Bar.
  • Seamless Singapore Escape: No flights, no visa hassles—just a short ferry hop and a quick drive to a world-class beachfront retreat

When To Stay

Plan your visit during Bintan’s dry season, from March to October, to maximize sunny beach days and mild humidity levels. For the most reliable weather—minimal rain and calm seas—aim for May through September, when afternoon showers are rare and outdoor adventures are at their best.

I had the most wonderful stay at this hotel. What really sets this hotel apart is its people, who are all absolutely wonderful. A special mention to Heny, Amelia and Riki. The hotel is beautiful, with large grounds and two fantastic pools, right by the beach, great facilities and the rooms were first class with ocean views (even from the shower!).
Great gym, pool bar, and the food was excellent in all restaurants.
The service, kindness and friendliness of the staff was absolutely first class, I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. A pleasure from start to finish in spending 4 wonderful days here. I will be back! - 15 Jan 2026

Just had the most amazing and relaxing stay with Hotel Indigo Bintan. I had visited Bintan around 4 times and this stay is the best so far.

Private transfers to and fro the jetty were arranged for us. The room is very clean and the staff is awesome. The breakfast spread is good and the other food and drink items at the SugarBeats are also delicious. Love to see the complimentary bicycles around the resort and we had a lot of fun cycling around.

The beach is very clean, love the soft fine white sand! Thanks for taking care of us, looking forward to be back! - 29 Dec 2025

Abosultely loved our stay here, you know it’s a good stay when you’re still in the stay but already planning when you’ll be coming back again. The well designed resort, clean beaches, and nice pools gave us a really nice escape into holiday mode. Plus I really appreciate all the staff there who are all so warm, friendly, attentive and thoughtful. You know the staff are great when they already know what you need and immediately offer them even before you thought of needing them. Not to mention, they are super good to kids, we brought our 1 year old daughter along with us and they made sure we’re all so well taken care of.

The only thing that bummed me out was that their spa was fully booked the whole 3D2N of our stay, was really looking forward to a spa day, so reminder for all to book before your stay if you really wanna try it out.

Hope they keep up this same standard and maintain the place really well, we will definitely come back again! - 28 Dec 2025

This hotel is one of the best I have come across in terms of service and professionalism . From the time I booked the hotel to the time I arrived at hotel and departed , everything was taken care of very seamlessly - from room reservations to other reservations like dining , kids activities , transport shuttle to nearby plaza lagoi , to activates and to airport , housekeeping requests for special pillows from pillow menu etc . Very warm welcome given by staff 100% of the time - very polite and excellent service . The premise has beautifully manicured and clean landscape a rooms which are a treat to the eyes . The beaches were private to this hotel and was so clean and clayey sandy like - a huge treat to just walk around . My children loved kicking a ball around and the place as a whole - younger child also went koi feeding at the next door holiday inn hotel .

I was so impressed that when we were departing , they even printed and got ready our ferry boarding passes without us asking them ( for this , you need to furnish your ferry schedule tickets to them ) .

My younger son fell sick and I was worrying over medical facilities in case needed , especially since there are no nearby pharmacies or clinics ( most medical facilities are at the other side of the island at Tanjong Pinang ) . When I asked the front desk , they shared with me that they have a 24 hr clinic within the hotel !!! It was assuring , and I didn’t have to use the service after all.

Rooms and spacious and clean and very good wifi connection and tv network connections etc . Room as auto feature for sustainability . The landscaping and lighting at night is also lovely

Loved sugarbeats and voyage pool bar !! The feel was just so good , and the view was great and staff were friendly, nice and helpful 🙂 Sugarbeats has breakfast menu with vegan options too ! However , I think anything more 2 days , you may find the food repetitive .

Highly recommended for a good leisure holiday with family !

Special mention goes to staff Lauberenzo at reception , Tommy , Adri and Driver Ali and many others who were working around the clock to make our stay such a lovely and pleasant one 🙂 Thnks to all in team !!! - 26 Dec 2025

Thank you for the lovely stay at your hotel!

The rooms are beautiful and thoughtfully designed. We did experience an issue with the pump after shower, which caused our balcony to flood, but we appreciated the team’s prompt responsiveness in resolving it.

In-room dining and meals were good, and breakfast offered a decent variety. One small suggestion would be to include a list of available drinks in the laminated menu.

Given the volatility of the weather, having more indoor activities or contingency options (e.g. card games or similar) would be very helpful. We also found the idea of workshops to be excellent — cultural activities such as batik or other Indonesian experiences would be a wonderful way for guests to learn more about Bintan and Indonesia.

As the hotel continues to fine-tune operations and the extent of product and service knowledge required by the staff, we did notice a few inconsistencies: We were not informed about the activities offered by the hotel on day 1, and we were unable to find this information online or in room booklet. The spa had no availability for 1–2 days. The ocean restaurant required reservations on weekends and there was no space even when we went at 5.30pm, so we opted for in-room dining instead.

These seem to relate mainly to space, capacity, and communication around activities and facilities, and we trust these will be smoothed out over time.

Finally, we would like to commend the staff for being warm and attentive — a special mention to Ilham, who stood out for his excellent service.

Thank you once again for the hard work, and we look forward to seeing how the hotel evolves!💗 - 22 Dec 2025

Had an amazing short trip to this beautiful new hotel on Bintan in Indonesia! The rooms are very nice with ocean view and very well maintained and clean! For breakfast, lunch and dinner there are many options (and more options coming up). The staff is super friendly and very helpful. Had such a nice time at the pool bar, where you can enjoy the water, sunshine and have a bite to eat or a drink. It’s a short trip by sea from Singapore and perfect for a weekend trip, but you can easily stay at Indigo for a longer time! Definitely coming back to the Indigo resort!!! 👌🏻😎 - 11 Oct 2025

Beautiful hotel with so many nice people who work there. Everything is taken care of like the transfer from the ferry to the hotel, luggage service and room service. We also celebrated my partner's birthday there and they included some complementary presents upon arrival. Room with great view to the sea and pool area. Breakfast has à la carte choice including sirloin steak (wow) as well as buffet. And everyone from the hotel is so nice and accommodating! 5 ⭐ everything :). - 27 Sep 2025

I wish I could give 6 stars, not 5!
Our stay at Hotel Indigo on Bintan Island was absolutely unforgettable. The room was stunning, with breathtaking views of the South China Sea that I could soak in from the bathtub on my private balcony, pure luxurious magic. The food was exceptional, and the bartenders and chefs are true craftsmen, clearly proud of their work. They even went out of their way to share tips and recipes so I could try recreating some of their cordials back home. What really set this stay apart, though, was the staff. Every single person we encountered made us feel like truly welcomed guests, happy to have us there and made our trip so memorable. The warmth of the entire team was unforgettable. The pool was fantastic, the atmosphere relaxed yet refined, and everything about the experience exceeded our expectations. Forget Bali, go to Bintan. If I could give Hotel Indigo 6 stars, I would. - 22 Sep 2025

We stayed 7 nights at Hotel Indigo Bintan as a group of three friends and had a truly relaxing time. The hotel is located on a beautiful white sandy beach with only a few other hotels around, which makes it the perfect place to unwind. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the pools are fantastic, and having direct access to the beach was a real highlight. What really made our stay special was the wonderful service. Every staff member was extremely friendly and attentive – a special thank you goes to Thania, who was always there for us and made us feel very well taken care of. It’s worth knowing that the hotel is situated within the designated resort area, meaning there are no local villages nearby and shopping options are quite limited. All in all, Hotel Indigo Bintan is a fantastic destination, and we would definitely love to come back. - 31 Aug 2025
