Roka Resort

I have been to Bintan many times but I wish I had found Roka earlier. Great service in the hotel and the restaurant. Quantity and quality of food was excellent. The quality of furnishings in the room is very high. The service outstanding. I will for sure return here for my next trip to Bintan. The quality / price ratio is incredible. Had the most relaxing vacation by the sea. No screaming kids, no noisy families. Just absolute peace for 5D4N. Location is quite remote, so you have to book a taxi service to go anywhere, but the driver who picked us up from the ferry terminal kindly offered to bring us to shop for drinks and snacks in town first.

The Superior room was immaculately clean, more so than I would ever have expected of a beachfront unit surrounded by gardens. Beware of sandflies on the beach and mosquitoes in general, but if you use the insect repellent they provide in the rooms, you'll be fine. We got a few mosquito bites, but nothing major. Aircon and water pressure were fine, and the only minor gripes were we could've done with more hooks in the bathroom and a full-length mirror (I'm short and the bathroom mirrors are too high). Definitely no deal breakers.

Dining at Sambuya Restaurant was lovely. As the only guests at the time, we were amazed at how the kitchen could serve up such a wide range of dishes. There was nothing we didn't enjoy. Highlights included the omelette, banana pancakes and gado-gado salad. Breakfast portions were on the smaller side, but otherwise very decent for the prices. For variety and even more savings, take a 5-min walk down the road to Warung Mak Anje and enjoy simple local dishes by the river.

Back at Roka Resort, the staff, especially Dewi at the front desk and Ana(?) at the restaurant, were so kind and helpful. We could Whatsapp Dewi anytime with questions/requests, and she even kindly allowed us a 3.30pm checkout time as we had booked the last ferry. WiFi was solid throughout, even at the beach or down the road!

BUT most of all, be prepared to fall in love with the cats, some who cuddle with you in the room, others that entertain you while you dine, and plenty more around the resort that bestow loud meows and head rubs. We miss them all so much and are already making plans to go back! (P.S. If you don't like cats, Roka Resort is not for you.) - 01 Mar 2026

14 napot töltöttünk itt. Nagyon jól éreztük magunkat. A hely természeti adottsága nagyon különleges. Csodaszép hely. Aki kedveli a macskákat annak kifejezetten ajánljuk. Az ételek nagyon finomak, nekünk kifejezetten ízlett. A kiszolgálás is fantasztikus volt. Nagyon köszönjük Ana, Hasti és a többi szép arcú és szép mosolyú indonéz lánynak. Különös köszönet Dewinek, aki megmentett, 😁🙏🏻❤️ a sok homoklégy csípéseinek kellemetlen következményeitől. Köszönjük Sofi, fantasztikus amit csinálsz! Sok elégedett vendéget és minden jót kívánunk. Overall it is a pleasant stay, with great friendly staff. Room is big, and a big TV screen with Netflix capability. The beach is not so well maintained, with limited space for walking along beach. Free kayaking, and a medium sized swimming pool. Food choice are limited in the only restaurant in the resort. But food quality are OK. Outside the hotel no restaurant within walking distance, so quite boring eating here. - 04 Jan 2026 

We has a lovely time staying at Roka resort. Rooms were spacious and well-furnished. Loved the vibe in the resort. Staff were friendly and the cute cats roaming about seeking pets were a huge plus. It is far from the bustle of the city and other tourists. Highly recommend this spot for a quiet getaway. - 01 Jan 2026

On a resté 4 nuits à Roka Resort. C'est un hôtel très très calme, super bien équipé. La chambre est avec la vue sur la mer, une énorme lit, des draps et coussins, serviettes confortable. Les décorations sont jolies, meubles aussi. Le jardin dans la nuit est magnifique également. Dewi (j'espère que j'ai bien écrit) et Faizah du restaurant sont très gentilles, très patientes et professionnelles. Merci beaucoup !!
Le seul inconvénient est qu'en Indonesie, il y a beaucoup de moustiques et insectes. Mais tous les jours il y a Dewi qui met des encens contre les moustiques devant chaque porte. Il y a aussi des crème antimoustique à la disposition dans la chambre. Même dans la journée, faut mettre le produit antimoustique.
Les chats sont tous adorables, c'est un paradis si vous aimez bien les animaux.
