What it is

Mayang Sari Beach Resort’s Garden & Sea View Chalets set it apart from the usual beach resorts in Bintan. Also part of Nirwana Gardens that houses 4 other resorts and villas (Banyu Biru Villas, Indra Maya Pool Villas, Nirwana Beach Club, Nirwana Resort) in the same compound, Mayang Sari has something in store for everyone.

Where It Is

Located on the northern coast of Bintan island, Mayang Sari resort is a mere 5-min car ride away from the BBT (Bandar Bentan Telani) Ferry Terminal. As it only takes around 50 minutes of ferry ride from Singapore to BBT Ferry Terminal, this chalet beach resort is multiple notches higher than Singapore’s Changi and Pasir Ris chalets.

Who Should Stay

For travellers who value authentic beach-front unique chalet-style resort stay, staying at Mayang Sari Resort is the closest you can get from urban Singapore. The moment you open the chalet door, you will be walking on smooth, white sand. The sea view and sea water welcome you with open arms throughout your stay.

Why Stay Here

The fact that it’s comfortably nestled within the huge Nirwana Gardens compound, guests could enjoy an extensive range of F&B outlets that offer various cuisines: restaurants, bars, a pool bar, a beach hut, al fresco restaurant. Guests could also utilize the shared facilities and services within Nirwana Gardens: the kids’ club, spa centre, land adventure, water activities, a dive centre, and even wildlife interaction.

When To Stay

Similar to all other Bintan resorts, Mayang Sari Beach Resort has a higher rate on the weekends than on weekdays. Do note that the resort applies additional peak surcharges on public holidays. If you’re thinking of going to Bintan for your next short getaway, remember to book with the best in the business. BintanGetaway is the number 1 Bintan travel site in Singapore in terms of price, package coverage, and number of travellers served over the years.

A great place to unwind and relax. This resort hotel is central to most of the Nirwana facilities, so if you are going to enjoy them, best to stay at Nirwana Hotel instead.
There is a direct shuttle bus to and from the Ferry Terminal, and there are internal shuttle buses to the different facilities too. However, some of the facilities are closed or closes early on non-peak days (Sun-Thurs).
The rooms and facilities can feel a little old in appearance, but no major issues.
Oh yes, this hotel is not the most baby-friendly hotel as many of the restaurants and places require you to go up and down stairs, so not very easy if you are travelling with a stroller. - 26 Jun 2025

Had a wonderful experience at Nirwana Resort Hotel with my family. We were all taken care by the Duty Manager Verry Suswanto.. They were some issues that we faced and was assured by him that he will do his very best to rectify it. He is seen to be very sincere and helpful in making our stay a memorable one. Kudos to Nirwana Resort Hotel management for having such a wonderful staff. - 25 Jun 2025

We stayed at the Suite Room on the ground floor which was v spacious with a living and dining area and bathtub with separate toilet. The resort itself is really big and there's shuttle bus provided to get to their activity centre, beach club and other villas and restaurants. There's plenty of activities available (at a fee) and buffet breakfast provided as part of the room booking.
It's much quieter than other beach resorts near the jetty which we love as it's less crowded and we really got to enjoy and chill from the busyness of life. - 18 Jun 2025

Nirwana gardens is one of the most beautiful, relaxing and peaceful hotel I have ever been to. Stuff is very friendly, kind and helpful. Very beautiful people inside and out.
Lovely atmosphere, clean pools, warm sea, tasty food in this little paradise.

From the moment we landed at the ferry terminal and were greeted by the lovely staff from narawana resort awaiting our shuttle bus to take us to the resort, they were absolutely amazing. Upon arrival we were given refreshments while we waited to check in. From start to finish, the staff were nothing but amazing, sweet and helpful to us which made our stay even more enticing. You will not get bored at this resort as there is endless activities that are offered to you and your family. My partner and I couldn’t be happier with our stay here. Our only criticism is that we wish that we stayed here longer than just the one night. We will definitely be back! - 04 May 2025

It is located in the Bintan Resort area. If you are from Singapore, you can take a ferry from tanah merah ferry harbour to bintan resort ferry harbour. There is a shuttle from Bintan Resort ferry terminal to the Nirwana Garden hotel.
If you are from Jakarta, best option takes a flight to Tanjung Pinang, then rent a car to the bintan resort. Other option via Batam but you must take ferry from batam (punggur) to Tanjung Pinang then by car to bintan resort.
It is an old hotel, but it is well maintained. They just renovated the room and repaint the whole the hotel. Room is clean, bathroom also clean. Comfort bed. Very standard amenities, it is like a three star hotel.
They provide free wifi but limited to two devices only. There is shuttle to other hotels, villas or restaurant which are still part of the same group
Breakfast is ok. with a variety of choices, the taste is standard. There is a coffee machine where you could serve yourselves.
Fast check in and check out the process. The staff is friendly, - 04 May 2025

Dining Experience:
The resort has six restaurants, and I got to try four of them: The Coffee Shop, the Kelong Seafood restaurant, the Calypso Floating Bar, and Dino Bistro. Just to note that all menu prices are before adding 11% tax and 10% service charge, which does bump up the final bill.
My absolute favorite was the Coffee Shop, great prices, tasty food, and super friendly service! We tried some Indonesian dishes such as Ayam Baker Taliwang (240,000 IDR), Nasi Goreng Nusantara (200,000 IDR), Authentic Pepes(275,000 IDR) and the portions were generous for the price. The waiters were so sweet, always smiling and making us feel welcome.
The Kelong Seafood Restaurant was also nice. We shared the small seafood fried rice (180,000 IDR) (plenty for two!) and the fried octopus (280,000 IDR), which was okay but nothing special. The prices felt a bit high for what we got, though.
Calypso Floating Bar was awesome for drinks with its splendid view. Since I don’t drink alcohol, I went for mocktails; all delicious, especially the bartender’s special one (blue one)! At around 90,000 IDR per drink, I thought it was pretty reasonable.
Now, Dino Bistro was a bit disappointing. The spring chicken main course (250,000 IDR) was tiny and just… not great. The cripsy seafood pizza (240,000 IDR) tasted good, but there wasn’t much seafood on it. For the price, I expected better.
Overall Stay:
The resort itself is a little old, some furniture and our room had a faint musty smell but the staff were so lovely that it made up for it. The location is perfect, with a quiet, beautiful beach, and we had a blast with the activities too! - 04 May 2025

It was a nice location and rooms and the service. However for indian there is less option in food . For such resort with sea view i will prefer not to go in monsoon because you cant walk much in sea side. - 02 Feb 2025

Amazing solo 3D2N retreat at this resort, price included daily breakfast! Quiet, peaceful and serene environment with a nice beach and swimming pool with the view of the beach. Shuttle bus is provided at every 30 mins till 10pm to travel around the Nirwana Garden vicinity including Kelong Seafood Restaurant, Calyso Floating Bar, Mayang Sari Resort, Nirwana Beach Club and Happy Valley with many outdoor, indoor and water activities to do! There are a few restaurant choices as well so you can basically just stay in at the resort itself or within the vicinity, food is delicious but on the pricier side. Service is top-notch, and location is just about 20 mins away from the ferry terminal. There will be shuttle bus provided to fetch to-and-fro from the ferry terminal so getting to the resort ground is not an issue yet all. - 30 Jan 2025
